On September 11, 2025, I presented a paper "Elder Abuse Multidisciplinary Teams: Evolution, Impact, and Future Directions" during a session at the International Federation on Ageing’s 17th conference in Cape Town South Africa. Our sesion was called at the Elder Abuse and Protection: Culture, Rights, and Community Response.

Innovations in Elder Justice Webinar

For World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (June 15, 2025), I was a panelist on the "Innovations in Elder Justice" webinar sponsored by the American Bar Association's Commission on Law and Aging.  My topic was the California Undue Influence Screening Tool, or CUIST, which I helped develop under a grant from the Borchard Center on Law and Aging. I was joined by Mary Jane Ciccarello of the Borchard Center who spoke about other innovations supported by the Borchard Center and its highly regarded legal fellowship program. Carol Sewell, Policy Director for the California Elder Justice Coalition presented on CEJC's A*TEAM, a statewide, multidisciplinary team the focuses exclusively on addressing systemic obstacles to elder abuse.

I started 2025 off by teaching this 6-week class for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, San Francisco, Winter 2025.
